For two decades Mr. Dohrmann operated in San Francisco, New York and twenty countries as Chairman of his growing publically traded, investment banking empire. Berny sold his firm to care for his father who was passing from Cancer. Years after Berny had sold Invest America his publically traded investment banking firm, he was indicted ultimately for 87,000 dollars related to the antique bond offering. When Berny sold the firm the bond payments where current and in good standing. Berny was convicted of criminal contempt for omission of risk issues the prosecution argued Berny SHOULD HAVE KNOWN and included in his risk disclosures. They did not accuse Berny of fraud or of taking any funds. Also there was no security law violation. The case was odd and unusual but Berny was famous and a career maker.
Berny doesn’t live today nor will he spend mental energy on what happened over two decades ago.
